Chester A. Arthur autograph letter signed as President. Upon Executive Mansion stationery, Arthur signs ''Chester A. Arthur'' at the close of his letter to Emery A. Storrs in Chicago, IL. Letter from 14 February [1882] reads in full, ''My dear Mr. Storrs, Pardon my delay in acknowledging the receipt of your note of the 3rd inst. I thank you cordially for your kind expressions & good wishes. With sincere regard for Mrs. Storrs and yourself, I am always Very Faithfully yours...'' Single-page letter measures 5'' x 8'' and hes been inlaid in paper to an overall size of 10'' x 12''. Minor grey discoloration. Near fine.
