Here, Eisenhower writes to his brother, Edgar, discussing a retired Rear Admiral, Chester Charles Ward, and his hysteria over Communism: ''...I applaud every effort to keep the nation alert and prepared to take care of ourselves...the Admiral has taken too much counsel of his fears -- he tends to be a bit hysterical...'' Signed ''D.E.'' Letter measures 7'' x 10.25'' on one page with two holes punched at top and minor toning. Near fine condition.
