Costume from the hit 2002 film, ''Gangs of New York.'' Directed by Martin Scorsese, the film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz and Daniel Day-Lewis gave a glimpse into the underworld of 19th century New York City. Metropolitan police officer's uniform is fashioned after the uniforms worn by policemen and issued by New York City in 1863. Navy blue uniform is made of heavy wool with brass buttons. Also includes a police badge pinned to chest of jacket and a hat with ''NYC'' at center. Size 42. Near fine condition. With a COA from Premiere Props indicating its use during the film.
