Herman Wouk signed copy of his classic, ''The Caine Mutiny'', published by Doubleday & Co.: Garden City: 1979. Wouk inscribes the fly-leaf in blue ink, ''Author's best wishes / To John Frederick / Sincerely / Herman Wouk / Palm Springs / Jan 85''. Wouk's tale of a sailor aboard a naval ship during the Kwajalein invasion in WWII runs 537pp. and measures 5.75'' x 8.5''. Bound in blue cloth boards with a black cloth spine and silver lettering. Light soiling to edges and to front free endpaper, else near fine. With dustjacket showing some minor paper loss to hinges and top of spine, else very good.
