Tennessee Williams typed note signed, likely a book review, for ''Season of the Witch'' by Williams' protege James Leo Herlihy. Williams writes in part, ''The writing of James Leo Herlihy, especially in this latest work, is rooted in the new youth and their revolution. He knows their special, almost cabalistic, language and uses it brilliantly...This is not a lost generation, this new American youth, but one which has found itself through contempt for social and moral falsities, in a manner much too bold and dynamic to be dismissed by such a negative term as 'Alienation'.'' Signed ''Tennesse Williams / Key West '71''. Williams also adds a handwritten notation, ''and I believe, his best'' to the review. Measures 7.5'' x 5''. Framed with a portrait of Williams to a size of 15.5'' x 24''. Near fine.
