Blue glass water tumbler personally owned by Franklin D. Roosevelt. This lovely piece depicts three sailboats and 12 seagulls in white. Measures 3.25'' tall, with a diameter at opening almost 3''. With provenance from the ''Miscellaneous Objects Belonging to the Late President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt'' sale, Hammer Galleries, New York, 12 November to 3 December 1951. Of the sale, Eleanor Roosevelt wrote, ''...The items which we have consigned to you for sale are all belongings which my husband and I had in our various houses over the years...So it is my hope that others will be able to find enjoyment in the possession of these things which have given much enjoyment to my husband, myself and the members of my family...'' Fine condition.
