President Clinton typed letter signed, sending birthday wishes to Republican Congressman Bill Young. Clinton is remarkably enthusiastic in this letter dated 11 December 1998, as he was in the throes of impeachment proceedings against him, culminating in his impeachment by the House of Representatives a week later. Bill Young, incidentally, voted to impeach Clinton. Letter on White House stationery reads, ''...Happy Birthday on the 16th!...We hope the coming year brings you good health and much happiness, and that we can continue working together to strengthen our nation and build a brighter future for all Americans...[signed] Bill Clinton''. Clinton also hand writes ''Bill'' over Young's typed name. 1pp. measures 6.75'' x 8.75''. Near fine.
