Diane Keaton custom-made costume designed by Hollywood and Broadway costumer Barbara Matera. Costume is from the MGM drama ''Mrs. Soffel'', in which Keaton played the lead role Kate Soffel opposite Mel Gibson. Set in 1901, costume reflects the time period and includes an ornate long-sleeve bodice blouse and long black skirt. Blouse has original custom-made costumer tag intact: ''Barbara Matera Ltd. / Miss Keaton / New York''. Black and olive green dress is adorned with black lace and beading throughout, with additional dark maroon sheer lace sleeves. Original handwritten wardrobe tag safety-pinned to sleeve reads: ''Diane Keaton / Mrs. Soffel - M.G.M. / Please hold in case of re-shoots. 2pc. w. black skirt / Thank You''. Another tag is sewn inside reading, ''Bullone, Moore, Emery & Co''. Heavy wool black skirt has horizontal black ribbons of fabric along bottom hem and measures 24'' at the waist, 50'' in length and 14'' from shoulder to shoulder. Near fine condition. With a Gene London Costume Collection COA.
