Henry VII vellum document signed as King of England. He adds his royal monogram ''H.R.'' to the left margin above center, and also inscribes autograph notes in two places. Henry's reputation for capriciously seizing property is reinforced with this meticulous accounting of property confiscated from two of England's personae non gratae: the man who led the Cornish rebellion, Sir James Tuchet, 7th Baron Audley; and Sir James Tyrell, who was beheaded for Yorkist plotting and portrayed in Shakespeare's Richard III. Document is dated the 22nd year of Henry's reign (''22 Henry II''), which covers the time frame of 22 August 1506 to 21 August 1507. The expenses and profits itemized here were generated by the manors of Aisshwall (Ashwell) and Puriton, lands at Betley and Chesterton, and a farm at ''Swynesbroke''. Rents, farms, sale of wood, fees, wages, annuities and repairs are quantified meticulously by Henry himself. 2pp. document in chancery script measures 10.75'' x 16.5''. Staining to upper and left margins and shallow separation to center fold at the side edges. Overall very good. Recently sold for $13,528 as lot 25 in Christie's 13 June 2012 sale.
