King George III document signed as King on 27 May 1795. Royal warrant authorizes payment of 25 pounds to Laurence Strong, ''now a prisoner at Quimper'' in France, and references the law passed in 1794 ''for preventing money or effects in the hands of his majesty's subjects, belonging to or disposable by Persons resident in France''. Signed by both King George III and William Cavendish, Duke of Portland. Includes stamped Royal seal on left edge. Two page card-style document measures 8'' x 12.5''. Light wear and soiling, but in very good condition with a bold signature by George III. With a COA From Kenneth Rendell.
