King George II document signed ''George R''. Handwritten document is a military appointment dated 26 October 1756, at the start of the Seven Years' War. Serves to promote one George Gottfried Bergman to the position of Captain Lieutenant in the Old Zastrow Foot Regiment. A wax and paper seal is affixed at the conclusion to the left of the signature. Document measures approximately 8.5'' x 12.5'', matted and framed with a portrait of George to an overall size of 21'' x 17''. It has not been removed from the frame for inspection but save for creasing appears near fine, especially given age.
