John Quincy Adams free frank signed, ''J. Q. Adams''. Envelope is stamped ''Free'' and ''Washn City / Jul / 13'' in red ink, dating the frank to 1828, 1829 or 1833. Adams served as president from 1825 to 1829, and as a Representative in the House from 1831 until his death. Envelope is addressed to one Kenderton Smith, Esq. in Philadelphia. Measures 5'' x 3.25''. Only the front panel of envelope is present. Shows splitting to a vertical fold near top and bottom edges. Very good given age.
