Invitation and program to the dedication ceremony of the House of Representatives building, today known as the Cannon House Office Building. The laying of the cornerstone for the building took place on 14 April 1906, at 2:30 p.m. Invitation is from the Commission of the House of Representatives and measures 5.5'' x 4.5''. Toning and a small stain, else near fine. Ten-page program contains a frontis drawing of the planned piece of architecture and also lyrics to the songs ''My Country Tis of Thee'' and the ''Star Spangled Banner''. Program features a red, white and blue American flag insignia on the cover and red, white and blue ribbon for binding. Measures 5.25'' x 8''. Paper adhered to back cover along the spine, else near fine.
