Hank Aaron signed autobiography, with a personal autograph note about racism. In this copy of ''I Had a Hammer - The Hank Aaron Story'', Aaron inscribes a note upon the front free endpaper, in full, ''11 April 1991 / For my sweethearts' husband, Ray: After reading this week, I can only concur with a recent Time Magazine essay by Barbara Ehrenreich entitled, 'Teach Diversity With a Smile'. An excerpt of which reads: 'Racist, ***, thoughts cannot, alas, be abolished by fiat, but only by the time-honored methods of persuasion, education and exposure to the other guy's point of view.' And yes, you may join Debbie and me for lunch - but not too often. With warm regard, Hank''. Published by Harper Collins: New York: 1991, book runs 331pp. with mustard colored boards and original dustjacket. A beautiful copy, with only very slight shelf wear. Very good to near fine condition.
