Animation cel from ''The Little Mermaid.'' The 1989 film was the last in a wildly successful line of Disney features to use hand-painted cels. It was a first, however, in the so-called Disney Renaissance during which the company drew from well-known classic tales for inspiration. ''The Little Mermaid'' is based on a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale. Here, the wide-eyed mermaid Ariel holds her anxious friend Flouder. Cel is set-up against a green foliage background. Disney seal is affixed to the lower left. Measures 14'' x 11''. Near fine.
