World War II General Mark W. Clark signed first edition of ''Calculated Risk'', published by Harper & Brothers Publishers: New York: 1950. Clark inscribes the fly-leaf, ''To Captain Katherine E. Manchester / With best wishes, Mark W. Clark, Dec, 11, 1950''. Clark's frank and controversial memoir includes his personal account of Operation Torch, the invasion of French North Africa under his command. Book runs 500pp. and measures 5.75'' x 8.5''. Some chipping to dustjacket and light toning to pages. Overall very good condition.
