Eric Carle original signed artwork of his famous caterpillar, used as the cover art of the 25th anniversary edition of ''The Very Hungry Caterpillar''. New York: Philomel Books, 1994. Composed in crayon and ink, artwork measures 6'' x 4.5'', a unique illustration for this copy which is #254 of 500 in the limited edition. Book is colorfully illustrated throughout, bound in silver metallic boards measuring 12'' x 8.5'', and then housed in publisher's lucite case and cardboard box. Also with publisher's card tucked in, authenticating the original drawing by Carle. Originally published in 1969, ''The Very Hungry Caterpillar'' is considered a classic in children's literature, having sold 50 million copies in over 66 languages. Faint wear, overall near fine condition.
