Elsa Einstein typed letter signed to her cousin Erich, praising the town of Princeton, New Jersey where the Einsteins moved after fleeing Germany. Datelined 20 October 1933 on stationery from the Peacock Inn in Princeton, German letter translates in part, ''...We are in Princeton and will spend the winter here. An enchantingly pretty little university town, a copy of Oxford; everything strikes one as quite English. An oasis in America, a magic scenery completely embedded within the natural landscape. / What do you hear from home? Nothing pleasant, I fear. How could it be otherwise, considering the unspeakably sad circumstances prevailing there. / Affectionate greetings to you, on behalf of my husband as well...[signed] Elsa''. Single page letter measures 5.5'' x 8.5''. Folds, overall near fine.
