Autograph letter signed by Edward Everett, Harvard president and one of the most famous orators of the 19th century. Undated letter was likely sent during the 1850s-60s. It reads, ''Dear Sir, I promised you some time ago a copy of the new edition of my Orations & Addresses, for the Nayland Library. The work has been lately published in two volumes 8vo; & if you will let me know how it can be forwarded, I will have a copy sent to you immediately...Edward Everett''. Single-page letter measures 7'' x 5.75''. Trimmed and mounted to a second sheet to an overall size of 8.25'' x 6.5''. Light foxing, small amount of paper loss and mounting, overall good to very good condition.
