Early gold medal from the Sheffield-Hallamshire Football Association Challenge Cup, awarded to star player Ernest Needham in his final season in 1910-11. Medal features the crest of the Association, a county-level division of the FA. Reverse is engraved with Needham's name, ''E.G. Needham'' along with the date and gold hallmarks, all surrounded by a pair of laurel sprigs. Accompanied by the original case from J. Fattorini and a photo card of Needham from a pack of cigarettes, measuring 1.5'' x 2.5''. 9kt gold medal measures 1'' in diameter. Weighs 9 grams. Near fine.
