Early concept art for Ridley Scott's ''Alien'', the classic 1979 sci-fi horror film. One of the most pivotal sequences in the film is illustrated here, showing the crewmembers Kane, Dallas and Lambert exploring ''Red City'', an early incarnation of what would be Moon LV-426 where the Derelict Spaceship had crashed. Large sheet reads at bottom, ''Red City. Temple / Alternative to 'Petra' Location.'' Artwork was done in 1977, signed ''Scott'', possibly by Ridley Scott but more likely Elliot Scott, a Hollywood production designer uncredited on ''Alien'' who worked on the ''Indiana Jones'' franchise. Artwork is rendered in pen and marker in colors of black and grey on artist paper. Measures 17'' x 13''. Mild creasing, overall very good plus condition. From the collection of former 20th Century Fox executive Peter Beale, whose COA accompanies the lot.
