Dwight D. Eisenhower typed letter signed, dated 5 June 1942 on ''War Department'' stationery. Here, Eisenhower writes to his brother, Edgar, discussing their mother's summer visit to Edgar: ''...I think you should not try to mould plans around the possibility of a bombing raid. With respect to the the possible restrictions on railroad transportation, it would appear that they would not be so severe as to prevent an elderly lady from returning to her own home...'' Signed boldly in black ink, ''Your Brother, Dwight''. Letter measures 7'' x 9'' on one page with minor creasing. Very good to near fine condition.
