Civil War magic lantern slide, picturing Union General Ulysses S. Grant at his headquarters at Cold Harbor in 1864, along with Grant's Chief of Staff, General John Rawlins, and Lt. Colonel Bowers. Photograph was taken in June 1864, after the Battle of Cold Harbor, one of the most deadliest battles of the war where no significant progress was made by federal troops. From the collection of T.H. McAllister of New York, glass slide measures 4'' x 3.25'', cased in period metal. In very good condition with excellent photographic quality.
