Charlie Duke signed and hand-annotated lunar map, showing the Descartes region of the moon where Duke landed the Orion as the Lunar Module Pilot for Apollo 16. Duke signs in black felt-tip, ''Charlie Duke / APOLLO 16 / MOONWALKER'', and also handwrites numerous lunar landmarks and memories of the mission, such as ''Beautiful white crater but beyond our Rover range'' and ''Landing Site perfect - smooth and level''. Large colorful map measures 44'' x 31''. Map is original from 1972, titled at bottom, ''Geological Map of Part of the Descartes Region of the Moon / Apollo 16 Pre-Mission Map''. Folds, overall near fine condition.
