Charles Dickens holograph check signed from 1870, shortly before he passed away. Written entirely in his hand, Dickens pays 16 pounds and 10 shillings to ''Wages'', dated 12 April 1870 and signed ''Charles Dickens'' with his elaborate paraph accenting the signature. Check measures 7.375'' x 3.75''. Light soiling, cancellation marks slightly affecting signature and mounting remnant to verso, overall very good condition.
