Photographer and costume designer Beaton's autograph inscription to the front free endpaper dedicates the book to the son of actress Helen Hayes. Dedication reads in full, ''For Jim MacArthur / with all best wishes from / Cecil Beaton''. Beaton's satire about Americans runs 214pp. Bound in jade cloth boards to an overall size of 5.5'' x 8.25''. MacArthur's bookplate with his name is affixed to front pastedown. Toning to leaves and sunning to backstrip, else near fine. From the estate of Helen Hayes.
